Wholesome! Fair Trade Organic Powdered Sugar is made from 100% certified organic sugar cane, grown and produced without the use of herbicides, pesticides or chemicals. Our powdered sugar is made by simply grinding our Fair Trade Organic Sugar to a fine, fluffy powder (12x) and adding 3% organic tapioca to prevent clumping. Unlike refined white powdered sugar with its overpowering, chalky sweetness, Wholesome! Fair Trade Organic Powdered Sugar retains a bit of the cane’s natural molasses to give a smooth, mellow and rounded flavour. Many moms like that this organic powdered sugar is corn-free too. It is perfect for cookies, frostings, fillings, dusting, and baking. Use as a one-for-one replacement for refined powdered sugar. Try dusting whole grain waffles, French toast, or stuffed crepes with a bit of Organic Powdered Sugar for a special breakfast treat. When making simple water icing, the organic powdered sugar gives a faint golden colour and delectable mellow toffee flavour derived from the natural molasses retained in the unrefined, unbleached organic sugar.
The Fair Trade Certified logo is Wholesome!’s guarantee that our farming cooperatives are paid directly for the cane grown and milled. This means that farmers can compete with factory farms, cultivate the quality of their crops, send their kids to school and build thriving communities. Thank you for choosing Wholesome!
Organic Sugar, Organic Tapioca Starch
Organic icing sugar....they do make excellent frosting any kinds for cakes.
I found any organic version of sugar is less sweeter than GMO kind (conventional kind) sugar.
That is good for me. Use less still sweet enough. Did not like too sweet anyway.
I bake a lot and since we've switched to Non-GMO and mostly organic lifestyle it has not been easy to replace every staple in my kitchen with a non-gmo/organic variety. I have a Blendtec blender and have tried making my own icing sugar from the organic cane sugar. However the kind that I'm able to find inexpensively (Irresistibles BIO brand) produces icing sugar that has a grey tint to it. Not very festive on cakes/cupcakes. Wholesome Sweeteners icing sugar is a perfect substitute for commercial icing sugar and yields nice fluffy white butter cream frosting. I rely on this brand of icing sugar when presentation matters in my cake.
