Floravit
Significant blood loss during childbirth and the weeks that follow depletes iron stores in new mothers. During breastfeeding, babies need high amounts of iron for healthy growth and development, which can impact the mother's iron levels. Postpartum fatigue in breastfeeding women is strongly linked to postpartum depression and early cessation of breastfeeding.
The best way to assess iron levels is through a blood test measuring ferritin, the body's iron storage. However, ferritin testing is unreliable during the first six weeks postpartum, so it should be checked during pregnancy and again six to eight weeks after childbirth.
Floravit provides vitamins B1, B2, B6, and B12, which work alongside iron to promote the formation of healthy red blood cells and prevent anemia during pregnancy and postpartum. B vitamins also play a crucial role in converting oxygen into energy after it reaches the cells.
Floravit is also appropriate for children, adolescents, and non-pregnant individuals who need iron supplementation to maintain healthy levels.
How it Works
Daily iron requirements increase during pregnancy and breastfeeding to support the baby's healthy growth in the womb and help maintain the mother's energy levels and mood during breastfeeding.
It is important to test iron levels during pregnancy and six to eight weeks postpartum to adjust diet and supplements as needed. Since iron deficiency is common during pregnancy and can increase the risk of complications for both mother and baby, Health Canada recommends daily iron supplementation of 16-20 mg during pregnancy.
Floravit provides the recommended daily dose of iron, combined with B vitamins and nutrient-rich food extracts to enhance absorption, digestion, and effectiveness. It is safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, gentle on digestion, and free from alcohol, artificial colors and flavors, yeast, dairy, and gluten, making it vegan-friendly.
Floravit is designed to support the health of both mother and baby during pregnancy and throughout breastfeeding.
