Is the fermented vegan protein 100% fermented?Yes, all of the plant proteins in fermented organic vegan proteins+ are fermented. The only ingredients that are not fermented are the natural flavours and sweeteners; listed under the non-medicinal ingredients.
I don't drink smoothies. How can I take fermented organic vegan proteins+?fermented organic vegan proteins+ doesn’t have to be blended into a smoothie. It can be shaken with water or any milk alternative. I've heard that rice protein is considered "complete." Why don't you use it on its own?We don’t make vegan proteins with single ingredients because most vegetarian proteins as stand-alone products don’t have balanced amino acid profiles (making them incomplete sources of protein). For example, pea protein is lower in essential amino acids methionine, tryptophan and cysteine and rice protein is lower in lysine and threonine. It’s interesting that among vegans, lysine and methionine is close to 50% lower, and tryptophan is nearly 20% lower than meat eaters.
The key to a healthy diet is a variety of nutrients that include vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and amino acids. This is why we formulated fermented organic vegan proteins+ with 7 plant sources not included in the everyday diet – including grains, legumes and seeds – for a wide spectrum of amino acids. This amino acid profile provides a “safety net” for physical health and mood support.
Is fermented organic vegan proteins+ raw?First thing’s first, let’s clear up some confusion around the term “raw.” “Raw” foods by definition are those that haven’t been heated above 118°F or 48°C. Proponents of the raw food diet say that because the food hasn’t been heated, it is richer in enzymes, vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals that can be destroyed through the cooking process.
While some companies on the market like to claim their protein powders are “raw,” this may be a bit misleading. Raw foods, by nature, are very minimally processed, however, when creating protein powder this is nearly impossible. The ingredients that go into protein powders need to be milled, processed, and sanitized in a way that makes them both safe and effective for consumption, which requires the use of heat. While no heat is added to the finished product, it is a bit misleading to label the product as truly “raw.” Unfortunately at this time there are no government standards or definition around this term, which allows for a lot of grey area when it comes to using the term on a product’s label.
fermented organic vegan proteins+ is not raw, but it is 100% fermented. The fermentation process is pretty amazing, because it not only makes the protein more digestible and absorbable, but it also creates entirely new nutrients that help to support a healthy gut.
I see inulin in some other protein formulas - why don't you use inulin in your fermented proteins?Inulin is a type of fructo-polysaccharide that is found in thousands of plants. Inulin can’t be digested by the human body, so it acts as “food” for gut bacteria. Gut bacteria need to eat in order to thrive, and inulin can multiply good bacteria. But for anyone with an imbalance of gut bacteria (known as “dysbiosis”), inulin can encourage the growth of unfriendly bacteria. This can spell trouble in the way of digestive discomfort (i.e. gas and bloating).
We created our fermented proteins with one goal: to help support digestion. This is why we don’t use inulin in any of our products. We prefer to nourish friendly bacteria via fermentation and polyphenols. The research into the gut benefits of fermented foods and polyphenols is pretty neat – and researchers still aren’t sure about why they encourage good bacteria and not bad. But what we do know is that nourishing good bacteria is one way to encourage a proper balance of good to bad bacteria – for a difference that you can feel.
How much vitamin k per serving?fermented organic vegan proteins+ has not been tested for naturally occurring vitamin K as it was not created to be a vitamin K supplement. There is likely to be some amount due to the nature of the ingredients.
Are your products peanut/tree nut free?According to Health Canada regulations, a product must have absolutely none, zilch, zero of the allergen (besides gluten – which is <20ppm) to call itself “free from.” That means just one part per million (1ppm or 0.000001%) of an allergen means you can no longer claim the product is “free from” this ingredient. As you can imagine, ensuring we have absolutely zero cross-contamination 100% of the time is nearly impossible to guarantee. Therefore, in the interest of safety for the hypersensitive we have removed these “does not contain” claims from the product packaging.
For our food products where high-risk allergens are present in the facility, additional comments may be included such as seen on our bar products, i.e. “May contain: Peanuts, milk, soy, tree nuts and egg.” For our powders and pills where the allergen is present in the facility, rigorous processes are in place to prevent cross-contamination. These controls include sanitation of equipment between product changeovers, production room clearance, air balance/flow controls and air filtration. These processes have been validated and compliance is continually monitored and audited. That being said, those with severe allergies should take care before consuming any product from any brand that is not certified as free of that particular allergen.
Can I mix this with almond milk instead of water?Yes, you can mix our fermented organic vegan proteins+ with your favourite beverage.
Does this product need to be refrigerated?Nope! fermented organic vegan proteins+ does not need to be refrigerated.
Are there live probiotics in the finished product?There are no live probiotics left in fermented organic vegan proteins+. After the fermentation process, the plant protein mixture with the probiotics is heated to stop the fermentation process and thus the probiotics die off. The entire process is strictly monitored to ensure that each step is precise and timed properly, so as to provide the desired level of fermentation. Post-production testing ensures that the product is clean and safe.
How much sodium is there per serving?The majority of the sodium in fermented organic vegan proteins+ is naturally occurring in the pea protein.

What testing do you do for metals, glyphosate and other contaminants? Does your product contain any genetically engineered (GMO) materials?fermented organic vegan proteins+ (and all of the supplements that we make, for that matter) are licensed by Health Canada and are tested as per regulations. These tests include heavy metals, pesticides, microbes and solvents. Depending on the ingredients other tests may be performed (i.e. fish oils are tested for oxidation, PCBs, etc.). We use only non-GMO ingredients and ensure this through supplier attestations and third party PCR testing.
Is it okay to consume 2 servings per day?The recommended dose is 1 scoop per day, providing 20g of protein. If you would like to take more it will depend on your protein needs and total daily intake. In general, a healthy and moderately active adult needs 0.8-1g of protein per kg of bodyweight per day. You need to consider all protein intake as well as needs to ensure that you are not taking too much.

I used this product since they advertise it as a non-bloating source of protein! Very wrong for my intestines! It did completely the opposite. Bloated like never before, had difficulty to bend. After I finally stopped this product, it took 7 days to get better. Sprouted protein is a much better choice since sprouting is a way to predigest the protein, it makes it more digestible, for sure! Be aware that many people can not digest fermented food.
I've tried different vegan proteins and this is by far the best one! I can't tolerate pea protein and rice protein is chalky. I have tried other genuine health products and I like the brand so decided to give this a try. I tried vanilla, coconut and chocolate and this is the BEST flavour and the BEST vegan protein. Its less grainy/chalky than rice protein, it doesn't bloat me like pea protein does and its chocolatey and mixes well. This is the only one I buy now, and healthy planet is the best price from other stores.
I usually use Vega sport protein, so I was wanting to try something new. I like how it is easier digesting and I dont mind the taste at all, it is less grainy than Vega. I did prefer how Vega had a higher protein content per scoop though.
This was recommended to me by my naturopath. It's a bit pricey and doesn't taste very good. But I'll finish it. Also, the instructions say to mix with "beverage of your choice". What does that mean? Water? Milk? Soy product? What if my choice is ginger ale? LOL

This is a great start to your morning routine. I make a shake with the chocolate protein powder, mango chunks, raspberries, blueberries and a dash of cinnamon. I add a cup of cocoanut milk, puree, and you've got a great breakfast that gives you energy so you don't need to snack.
I recently found out I have an intolerance to dairy so I was on the hunt for a vegan protein that was not chalky or for lack of a better term just plain gross. This one is amazing, it blends well, the flavour is great and its so easy on your digestive system! I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
