L-Carnitine is a non-essential amino acid crucial for maintaining overall health by facilitating the transfer of fatty acid groups into the mitochondrial membrane, thereby supporting cellular energy production. While naturally present in red meat and other animal-derived foods, supplementation is recommended to achieve optimal levels of this beneficial amino acid. NOW utilizes Carnipure, a premium grade of L-Carnitine (L-carnitine tartrate) from Lonza, a leading Swiss life sciences company known for extensive research. Non-Medicinal Ingredients
Hydroxypropylcellulose, Vegetarian Grade Coating (water, hypromellose, cellulose, stearic acid), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Stearate (vegetable source) and Silica.
Directions
Adult Dosage: Take one tablet twice daily with meals. Take 2-4 hours prior to exercise. Consult a health Wellness-Care practitioner for use beyond 3 weeks.
Risk Information
This product provides 2 g of single amino acid/day. Consult a health Wellness-Care practitioner prior to use if you have liver or kidney disease or if you have been instructed to follow a low protein Nutrition Plan. Mild gastrointestinal symptoms (transient nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and diarrhoea) have been reported. Low incidences of seizures have been reported with oral doses in individuals with or without pre-existing seizure disorders. Do not use if you have primary systemic L-carnitine deficiency or secondary L-carnitine deficiency (inborn errors of metabolism) for which levocarnitine supplementation is prescribed and/or monitored by a health-care practitioner. Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you are taking any prescription medication or have a serious disease. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
