It contains 4-hydroxyisoleucine (4-OH-Ile), fat, diosgenin, iron, phenolic acids, protein, and protodioscin. Fenugreek has a long history of medicinal use in Indian and Chinese medicine, where it has been employed for a variety of purposes.
