Cautions and warnings
Do not take additional vanadyl sulfate without consulting a health-care practitioner. Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you have diabetes or a heart condition; if you are taking any heart or blood-pressure medication; or if you have a kidney disorder. Consult a health-care practitioner if you see signs of decreased fluid and food uptake, dehydration, and reduced body weight gain. Discontinue use if you develop symptoms of liver trouble.
Contraindications
Do not use if you are pregnant, breast-feeding, or attempting to conceive; if you are hypersensitive or allergic to cinnamon or Peruvian balsam; if you have liver or gall-bladder disorder, bowel obstruction, or alcoholism; if you are taking acetaminophen; if you have acid reflux; or if you have stomach or intestinal ulcers.
Known adverse reactions
Hypersensitivity (e.g. allergy) has been known to occur; in which case, discontinue use. May cause irritation of the gastric mucous membranes, reflux, or gastrointestinal disturbance. Discontinue use and consult a health-care practitioner in case of feeling of anxiety, sweating, paleness, chills, tremor, headache, dizziness, nausea, and/or confusion, as these may be symptoms of serious low blood sugar or hypoglycemia.
