I recently was diagnosed with silent reflux (LPR). My throat feels like it closing, cough wheeze mucus in throat and sinus problems. I was given PPIs and for whatever reason I took a bad reaction to them. I had extreme back pain. This went on for days. I had bought the betaine HCL and it was in my cupboard, so I decided to try them. I took two after my first bite of food and within a hour, my back pain subsided. I believe my cough has improved (not completely gone) due to the HCL but still suffer from wheezing after eating with times of mucus stuck. This becomes more prominent after I eat dairy. I would recommend them 100%.

I have tried other betaine products, and keep coming back to this one. The price is reasonable, and I have no negative side effects of this one, where other betaine products have left a funny taste in my mouth.

I thought this would help my digestion but unfortunately it bothered me. No fault of the product, I guess I just didn’t need it. Gave to my daughter and she finds it helpful. She has low stomach acid.

Fine product. Fenugreek which is added for improved digestion may come up on your breath. Slightly lower dose of HCL. Betaine is good for those who can tolerate it. Most can, some cannot. People with allergy, CFS, MCS often cannot make enough of their own HCL. Nature reduces HCL production in those over 50. The body requires HCL to absorb calcium and other minerals and to digest fats. Helps to correct nature's natural aging process by improving digestion and increasing the bio-availability of the excellent nutrition in your food and from your vitamins and other supplements.

I Picked these up for a Friend Through a Sale Healthy Planet was promoting. She Uses them Religiously with every Meal reporting that they have helped in the Digestion of Meals and has been a great aid in healing to clear her skin of blemishes she was often plagued with.

I used to take enzymes with my meals. But ever since I have been using Betaine HCl I don't use enzymes any more. My digestion is not worse when substituting enzymes with Betaine HCl. I only take enzymes occasionally now. In other words, Betaine HCl works as well as enzymes in terms of digestion but can't tell about absorption. We need the acid to kill the germs in the digestive tract. Betaine HCl is much cheaper than enzymes.

In using this product i've noticed a huge improvement in my digestion and acid reflux symptoms. Entire digestive process is much more comfortable (decreased gas, bloating) and increased elimination. I also agree with kristen, I didn't realize this product is not vegan and it doesn't indicate whether or not it is GMO free.

Very happy with this product. For anyone with acid issues, this is a must. Works very well. My only issue is that it doesn't say if it's GMO or not and it's not vegan (I didn't realize this until after I ordered, so I will be ordering a different brand next time).

Anyone with tummy troubles after large meals or anyone who has messed up their system eating foods that their digestive system reacted poorly too or simply stopped working as a result should definitely have this in their cabinet. Also great for low stomach acid causing heartburn or acid indigestion.
