Medicinal Ingredients
Each capsule contains
Saccharomyces boulardi (whole cell) (strain CNCM I-745) | 2.5 x 10 (2.5 billion) CFU (250 mg) |
Non-Medicinal Ingredients
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate.
Dosage
Adults, adolescents and children 6 years and older
Take 2-4 capsules, 1-3 times a day. To prevent the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, treat symptoms of acute infectious diarrhea, reduce risk of traveller's dianhea, take 4 capsules daily. To reduce the risk of traveler's diarrhea, start 5 days prior to the trip and continue through the entire duration. In all cases, if you are on antifungal(s), take at least 2-3 hours before or after. Can be taken in conjunction with any antibiotic course.
Cautions and Warmings
Stop use and ask a health care practitioner if symptoms of digestive upset occur, worsen or persist beyond 3 days. Ask a health care practitioner before use if you have an abnormal condition of the gastrointestinal tract lining or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The concurrent administration of Saccharomyces boulardiilyo and intestinally acting antimycotics may decrease the efficacy of S. boulardii lyo. Treatment does not replace rehydration when this is necessary.
Known adverse reactions
flatulence, constipation, and thirst. Rarely: pruritus, rash, angicedema. Very rarely: anaphylactic reaction, fungemia, sepsis.
