Ecoideas Coconut Sugar is 100% natural and free from additives and artificial flavorings. It is a nutrient-rich, high-value food product derived from the fresh sap of coconut trees. The sweet juice is extracted when the budding flower is just about to grow – and not from the coconut fruit. The result is a rich, caramel-like flavour. In addition to its wonderful taste, it is packed with vitamins (particularly B vitamins), amino acids and minerals. It also has a low glycemic index (GI) of 35 (good news for diabetics, and the rest of us too!).Coconut Sugar serves as a healthier alternative, replacing sugar in coffee, tea, and other beverages. It is also used as a balancing agent and flavour enhancer for cakes, pastries, and even curries and robust sauces. Many patisseries will find Coconut Sugar’s rich caramel taste and distinctive aroma perfect for their concoctions.
100% pure coconut flower nectar
I've used this in my apple-cranberry muffins, and it imparts a mild and pleasant sweetness. As well, I've tried in my homemade ketchup recipe, where it adds sweetness but is not overpowering. It's a healthy alternative and will definitely become a baking staple in our house.
I've used this in baking a fruit crisp as well as in oatmeal for breakfast and was very pleased both times. It appears that the coconut sugar is sweeter than brown sugar I normally use in baking a fruit crisp. Next time I will use less.
I've been using coconut sugar for about a year, in my tea, on my morning cereal and also use it in baking. For anyone that wants to eliminate sugar from their diet coconut sugar is grat and is more cost effective than some of the other sugar alternatives.
We love this coconut sugar and use it in all baking and cooking instead of sugar or brown sugar. Its great!
This sugar from coconut flower nectar imparts a lovely, deep flavour the same way brown sugar does over white cane sugar. This is an excellent sugar substitute and can be combined (but not always necessary) with other sugar substitutes such as Xylitol.
I use this sugar in place of regular sugars in all my baking. It really is so good, and good for you!!!
