This lack of sunlight often results in a deficiency of vitamin D3, since the UV rays we get from the sun play an essential role in vitamin D3 production. Vitamin D3 is necessary for many functions in the body. It plays a role in calcium absorption, immune function, mood health, skin health, cardiovascular function, hormone balance and that’s just to name a few. Taking vitamin D3 supplements is a great option for those who are deficient. However, most vitamin D3 supplements are synthetically derived from lanolin, a greasy substance found in sheep’s wool, which is not ideal for those who don’t consume animal by products.
CanPrev’s Vegan D3 drops are derived from a sustainable lichen source, and are diluted with vegan, GMO free carriers to ensure stability and potency.
Similar to moss, lichen is a plantlike organism that is produced via a symbiotic relationship between algae or cyanobacteria and fungi. Lichen is rich in naturally occurring vitamin D3.
