Maca Maple Hot Cocoa

When you think of chocolate pudding, Energy probably isn’t the first word that comes to mind (unless you’re considering the short-lived sugar rush). Yet when it comes to this “pudding,” it’s a different story. Featuring Maca and Raw Cacao, this recipe is packed not only with superfoods, but with whole food ingredients as a base.

While gelatin, cornstarch and eggs are commonly used to obtain that thick, creamy, classic pudding texture that’s oh-so good, here the delightful texture comes from …avocado!  You might think this is starting to sound more like guac than pudding, but never fear. You’ll be much too preoccupied with the rich, chocolatey overtones of cacao to even notice the avocado (or the banana, for that matter!) Seriously, until you try it, there’s just no way to convince you how ultimately amazing this recipe is. And because of what’s in it, as well as what’s NOT in it (ahem… artificial flavors and sweeteners!), it’s even breakfast-worthy.You can’t go wrong.

It’s easy, too! Simply add a serving of Daily Maca Plus for Women Over 40 or Daily Maca Plus for Men Over 40 into your blender, and you’ve boosted your pudding with multiple Superfood ingredients in one swift scoop.

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 banana
  • 1 T raw cacao powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop Daily Maca Plus (for Men or for Women)
  • 1 T Local honey , or to taste*

*This recipe’s flavor is more rich than sweet. Go light on the honey if you’re sweet enough as it is! :)

Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse until desired consistency is reached. Depending on the firmness of the avocado, you may want to add more coconut milk. Enjoy!
