Vitamin K2 + D3 and AVitamin K2, D3 & A delivers clinically relevant doses of three essential fat-soluble vitamins crucial for optimal bone health. While these vitamins play roles in cardiovascular health, blood sugar regulation, immune function, and inflammation control, they exhibit complementary physiological functions related to bone health. This includes modulating gene expression in osteoblasts and carboxylating osteocalcin, an enzyme vital for bone formation. A notable example of this synergy is the reduction in undercarboxylated osteocalcin and an increase in bone mineral density (BMD) observed in postmenopausal women when vitamin K is added to vitamin D supplementation.
Vitamin D, with its diverse and significant functions in multiple body systems, becomes especially crucial in the face of widespread deficiency, amplifying its essential roles. Supplementation has been established to significantly reduce the risk of osteoporotic fractures. Correcting a vitamin D deficiency is paramount when supplementing with vitamin A, as vitamin A appears to promote bone health only when vitamin D levels are adequate. Vitamin K, recognized for its role in coagulation, is now acknowledged as necessary for the carboxylation of enzymes critical for both bone and blood vessel health. Meta-analysis demonstrates improved vertebral BMD and reduced fractures among post-menopausal women with osteoporosis, while controlled trial data indicates a reduction in the age-related decline in BMD among healthy postmenopausal women. The naturally derived MK-7 form in Vitamin K2, D3 & A boasts a longer half-life than any other form.
Benefits
- Offers balance of key fat-soluble vitamins, A, D, and K, critical to bone health
- Contains vitamin K2 (MK-7), the most bioactive and long-lasting form
- K2 (MK-7) helps increase vertebral bone mineral density among postmenopausal women
- Provides vitamin D3 effective in maintaining blood levels of 25-OH vitamin D23
- Optimal form of vitamin A, palmitate
