Vitamin D31000IU
Vitamin D, now acknowledged as a hormone, plays a crucial role in numerous body systems and various physiological processes, making it one of the most prevalent nutrient deficiencies worldwide. Numerous recent studies have established a correlation between lower vitamin D levels and an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, coronary artery disease, and Cardio Health failure. Additionally, deficiencies have been associated with various cancers, autoimmune diseases, and type 2 diabetes. Vitamin D is essential for intestinal calcium absorption, maintaining skeletal bone integrity, promoting skeletal muscle strength and function, and contributing to overall physical fitness. Its critical role extends to supporting healthy immune function, potentially reducing the risk of infections, particularly respiratory tract infections. With receptors for vitamin D present in virtually every tissue in the body, its significance is challenging to overstate. Many practitioners recommend supplementation to achieve blood levels of 25-OH-vitamin D between 50-80 nmol/L, often requiring daily doses of 1000-2000 IU, and higher amounts for individuals with common genetic variants affecting vitamin D metabolism.
Benefits
- Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) likely more effective at restoring blood levels than D2 form (ergocalciferol)16
- 1000 IU vitamin D per softgel allows for easy daily dosing
- Easy to swallow and highly bioavailable softgel
- In a base of organic flaxseed oil for improved intestinal absorption
