Multiple clinical trials have shown that NEM reduces joint pain and stiffness associated with osteoarthritis, and reduces joint pain and stiffness caused by moderate-intensity aerobic exercise. It was also shown to reduce urinary levels of C-terminal cross-linked telopeptide of type II collagen (CTX-II), a biomarker for cartilage degradation, both in healthy people and those with joint disease.4 In addition, controlled clinical trials have shown a reduction in joint pain and stiffness in individuals with knee osteoarthritis within 10 days of use. Open-label trials have shown persistent improvements in pain and flexibility for multiple joint and connective tissue disorders within one week.
