Benfotiamine, a natural form of thiamin (vitamin B1), has been demonstrated to be five times more absorbable than standard thiamin, with superior penetration through cellular membranes. The key benefit of benfotiamine lies in its capacity to effectively metabolize carbohydrates and prevent protein glycation, a process that produces Advanced Glycation End-products (AGEs).
AGEs form when cells are consistently exposed to high levels of blood sugar. They can induce significant tissue and DNA damage, accelerate the aging process, and ultimately harm blood vessels. Benfotiamine aids in carbohydrate metabolism, preventing their contribution to AGE formation.
